Stegmeier Corporation has deep roots dating back to the pool/decorative concrete industry of South Florida of the 1950s. Bill Stegmeier, our founder, owned both a concrete construction firm that poured pool decks in South Florida and a chemical manufacturing company that supplied concrete additives.
In 1968, in the San Francisco Bay area, Bill Stegmeier founded Stegmeier Corporation. His first product was what is known today as Frontier Desert Deck. This product is a colored sand and cement overlay that is non-skid in texture, attractive and cooler than grey concrete. Frontier Desert Deck is a popular product that continues to be manufactured by Stegmeier LLC to this day.

It was at this time that Bill Stegmeier introduced the very first cantilever deck form made of expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam). His industry changing forming product replaced the old pre-cast coping stones. This type of forming method is still used in swimming pool installations to the present day.
Many products in our industry today date back to one of Bill Stegmeier’s patents including the removable top drains, deck drains, cantilever deck forms and many more time and money saving products.
In the early 1970’s Bill expanded his company by opening up an East Coast branch in Jacksonville, Florida. He later opened another manufacturing operation in Atlanta, Georgia. This expansion sparked the sales of Stegmeier products through a network of nationwide distributors and has become the Stegmeier LLC that you know today.
In 1998 Bill Stegmeier passed the leadership of Stegmeier Corporation on to the team of partners that own and operate the company now known as Stegmeier LLC. Bill wisely formed this partnership of people who already had years of experience managing and operating the company under his tutelage.
We, at Stegmeier LLC, are grateful to Bill Stegmeier, our founder, who continues to be involved in the company. Bill Stegmeier is truly one of the icons of our industry, and we are proud to continue his legacy of performance and service to our customers.
